Reed Consulting Group is looking for proven IT professionals who are up to date on the latest trends and technologies and available for contract work.  All of our associates are hired on an as-needed basis for specific contracts or as Part Time Flexible (PTF) independent contractors to be called in on an as-needed basis.

Position: Tier 1 Help Desk Field Technician
Employment Type: PT Independent Contractor
Salary: Dependant upon qualifications/experience

Job Requirements:

Work independently with little supervision.

Must have A+/N+ CompTIA certification or 2-3 years hardware knowledge/experience.

Must have excellent trouble shooting skills to diagnose and repair common hardware/software problems on desktops, laptops, and peripheral devices.

Must have knowledge of basic networking technology (SOHO routers, switches, wireless networking, modems).

Must have basic knowledge of Active Directory, Exchange/Outlook, and be proficient with Microsoft-based servers and desktop operating systems.

Applicant must be self motivated. Job requires interaction with end users to schedule service calls and provide follow-up support. Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of clients is a must.

Must have the ability to lift or move computer equipment as required.

This is a part-time, contract basis opportunity.

Qualified candidates will be interviewed, and if approved, we will place your information on file and contact you as needed for hourly-based work. This will typically involve troubleshooting problems when clients report problems, outages, or performance issues. Fast response time and turnaround is required. This is an ideal position for college students experienced with computer and network troubleshooting or network/help desk specialist looking to supplement their income.

We also have a limited number of regular PT opportunities (primarily performing routine maintenance and upgrades during predefined maintenance windows) available.
